Dinner on the Porch!
We can't wait for Holden's return, tomorrow!! I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to see him on the webcam. It has made this experience, so much easier. I hope Kiki and Grandad are not too worn out.

Only Child
Jack has been reliving his days as an only child. Holden has been spending some time in Huntsville, with Kiki and Grandad. It was a hard decision to make, since he is so young, but it has worked out great. We are lucky to have my parents babysit him and they needed some time, at home, to get things done. Since they have been here 24 hours a day, I knew that they could handle it. It has given us a chance to get some sleep, do some yard work, and spend some quality time with Jack (who has been fighting for our attention). Holden has been great for my parents. He has been sleeping from 10pm until around 5:30am. We all have web cams (Uncle David and Uncle James have them too) and I get to see Holden as much as I want. Actually, I bet we talk/see them 5 times a day.
They are bringing him back on Wednesday or Thursday, and we are headed to Andalusia, next weekend, for Easter. We look forward to seeing LeeLee and Big J and that side of our family.

Spring Break funnies...
Funny #1:
Jack: I need a little bit of water. I got bubbles in my mouth.
Mommy: Jack, did you drink the bubbles.
Jack: Yes, I did. It's okay. I just need a little bit of water.
Funny #2:
I was in the shower, when Jack rant into the bathroom, opened the shower door, and handed me my open cell phone. He said, "your phone is ringing mommy". Instinctively, I reached for it even though my hand was full of shaving cream. Sure enough, it was counting the seconds for a number I didn't recognize. I closed it, walked (soaking wet) towards the den to give it to Jason, in case they called back. Jack had locked us in my bedroom.

Sunday Morning
This is what we did, while our, still sick, daddy slept in...
However, "sleeping in" meant 7am.
By the way, I didn't' get a chance to mention our 5th anniversary, on Friday. It's been a great 5 years: 3 homes, a new car, lots of furniture, a couple of job changes, many nights out, and two beautiful boys. I wouldn't change it for the world. Your 5th anniversary is supposed to be wood. Jason got me the rocking chair that I've wanted for years...

Still Sick
Holden and I seem to be the only ones, in this family, holding it together. Jason is still really sick. He started a second antibiotic, yesterday. That makes two plus a shot. Jack doesn't act sick, but his antibiotic is doing not nice things to his tummy. He tells us "it burns" and then he wants to "air it out". I'm assuming you can figure that one out.
Holden had his first night out, last night. Fionnuala and Paul had some teacher friends over, after work. Holden and I went, alone. We left the sick guys at home. Holden got to meet a sweet little girl, Erin, that was born 2 weeks before him.
Here is a picture of Fionnuala's dog, Mackenzie....

Fountain of Youth
I wish I knew my grandmother's secret. At 81 years of age, she has more energy than anyone I know. She has been visiting for 2 weeks. She went dancing a few times, spent some nights here, spent a night with a friend, and spent most of her time at my Uncle James' house. One night she drove, by herself, from Hoover to Fultondale to go to a dance. Last night, the storms woke Holden up at 4am and by the time we got up there, she was already rocking him. haha.
Jason has been sick for 2 weeks. Jack has had a nasty runny nose for about a month and started a cough 2 weeks ago. Well, we took him to the doc, today. He has pneumonia! My little 2 1/2 year old has pneumonia! I have taken his temp a few times, but he never had a fever. He didn't even have one at the doctor. The doctor couldn't believe that he was running around the room, when he was that sick. I remember when Jack was having all of those ear infections, the doc would tell us his pain should be a 9 out of 10 and was shocked that he wasn't crying all night long. Thank goodness that my parents are here keeping Holden. Jason is too sick to take care of Jack and I don't have any sick days left.
By the way...the previous post pictures where taken a couple of days ago. I'm pretty sure he had pneumonia when he was jumping on the couch.

The Lost Blanket
About 4 weeks ago, Jack's blanket disappeared. He loves his blanket. His blanket is tan and he was okay with the fact that it was missing because we had a blue one that looked just like it. The transition to the blue one was quite easy, even though he only wanted the tan one, when given the option. It drove me crazy looking for that blanket. I looked EVERYWHERE: in drawers, under beds, in our 2 storage attics, and in closets. I know that it didn't leave the house because Jason won't let him take it to daycare.
I finally decided that I, absentmindedly, put it somewhere. It was crazy around here, at that time. We were still organizing the new house, had a newborn, and I was on pain pills.
Yesterday, my mother asked me if I still had my salad spinner. I told her that I did and went to retrieve it. It was on the top shelf of our pantry. I took it down, opened it, and there was the blanket! In the salad spinner! On the top shelf of the pantry! haha. Jack was playing with all kinds of appliances and other kitchen tools. I took them all and put them where he couldn't reach them. I had no idea that he had put his blanket in the salad spinner.
