Watching

Jack loves to watch Jason mow the yard. Actually, we spend a lot of time staring out this window. He will watch the entire cycle of our sprinklers and the neighbor's sprinklers. The other day we were watching for the pizza delivery man and we were surprised to see Alley on the front sidewalk with a big, dead chipmunk, in her mouth.

Exciting Times Ahead...

Jack is going to be a big brother! We had our second doctor's appointment, today. I am 10 weeks along. For the most part, I've been hibernating for the last 2 months trying to make it through the unbelievable exhaustion and horrible sick feeling. The symptoms have been a lot worse than with Jack. Things are definitely beginning to look up, though.

After our doctor appointment, Jason's Uncle John (who had just flown into Bham) took us out for lunch. We had a very nice time.

"More Water"

If I hear that phrase one more time, I just might scream. We have been in Huntsville for a few days and Jack has spent hours outside playing in the sprinkler or watering the yard. He is bordering being obsessed with water. In the last picture, he talked Grandad into taking him outside to play in the sprinklers very early in the morning. He still has his pajama top on. My dad asked me what Jack does when we go visit Jason's parents. I told him that he spends the entire time asking to go outside and play with the water hose, just like here (and at the beach).

On another note: Jack had his 2 year check up this week. It was the most uneventful doctor appointment we have ever had. He did not receive any shots. His growth is still consistent and he meets all of the developmental milestones of a 2 year old. I asked about potty training and the doctor said that boys aren't ready until 33 months. It looks like I have a long time, before I need to worry about it.

Birthday Weekend

We had a great weekend celebrating Jack's second birthday. We had 4 full days of grandparents. I decided to keep Jack's party very small, this year. It was just grandparents and aunts and uncles. Next year will be the first big party.

Don't Take it for Granted

I have been thinking for weeks, if not months, about transitioning Jack to a "Big Boy" bed. He has always had a twin bed in his room and we have been laying on it to read and play, for the last couple of weeks. Well, 3 days ago LeeLee was baysitting and he wanted to nap in his bed. He has napped in his big bed every day, since then. Last night, he insisted on going to sleep in his bed. We weren't fully ready, but decided to "go with it". He slept great all night long. He woke up at his usual, 6:45 am, and just talked to himself, until we went in there. For some reason, he doesn't realize that he is allowed to get out of his bed, on his own. He waits until someone comes in for him. Never, in my wildest dreams, did I think he would do the entire transition for us.

On the same note, we went to Publix and pulled into the garage about noon. As I was getting him out of his carseat, he said, "night night, bed". So, I took him straight to his room, and he climbed in bed, under the covers, waited for me to go find his blanket, and then said "night night".
