Christmas Round 2

We celebrated a wonderful Christmas in Andalusia, AL. It was a nice, week long visit. Jason was able to play golf, twice. The weather was very warm. Jack is fortunate to have so much family that cares about him. He received lots of great presents and we really enjoyed our visit.

More Presents

A present from Daddy...

Jack is probably a bit young for a train table. But, I can't ignore a good deal. A good friend of mine (one of my student's mothers), sold me her son's train table with tons of track and trains. She has been so kind to us. Her son is in third grade and she has been handing me down his stuff. She has already given me a lot of DVDs and toys.

Christmas Round 1

We celebrated Christmas with Kiki and Grandad on Thursday. Jack received a lot of cool toys and some clothes.

On Saturday, we helped throw "Uncle" Paul a surprise 30th b'day party. Jason took Paul to a bar, while Fionnuala, Jack, and I got everything ready. Here are some pictures of Jack performing karaoke. Actually, he thought he was the DJ for the evening.

Life is Too Short

Today, one of my students passed away from a car wreck. He was only 7 years old. He was in a car that swerved across it's lane and hit a coal truck. I find this terribly saddening.

So Many Birthdays

This weekend was supposed to be a big birthday celebration, but it turned into a small one. Within about 5 weeks, LeeLee and Big J turned 60 and Grandad turned 65. We needed a babysitter for a Christmas party and a wedding (that my parents were attending), so I was supposed have all the grandparents and Aunt Jennifer at my house. We were going to celebrate birthdays, today. Well, Aunt Jennifer could not come. Then, my dad partially fell through the ceiling last week and couldn't travel because he has not fully recovered. So, my meal for 7.5 turned into a meal for 4.5. Nevertheless, we had a great weekend. The Christmas party was fun and the wedding was a blast.

It never gets old

Mackenzie is Fionnuala's dog (even though I did help with the puppy years). I love to take pictures of Mackenzie in her Santa hat. These pictures are from a few years ago. They make me laugh. I usually email these to Fionnuala, but this year I thought I'd share them with everyone.

It's Friday!

We survived our week back at work and daycare.

Apparently, he learned how to smile for the camera.

This picture is for Uncle David and Aunt Jennifer.

Good morning, Sunshine.

Videos are Back!!!

A couple of months ago our desktop computer crashed. Jason calls me his "tech rep", but it was beyond my capabilities. My dad reformatted everything, but it still acted "funny". Well, last Friday my brother spent many hours reformatting, again, and then reloading all of our old software. Hallelujah!! Using his words, "It runs better than when you bought it". He was right. Finally, I have access to my video burning software.

So, I thought I'd share a couple...

Thanksgiving 2008

Jason, Jack and I want to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving. We especially miss LeeLee, Big J, and Aunt Jennifer. We hope that you enjoyed spending time with family in Enterprise.

Here are a few pictures from our day. We ate our Thanksgiving meal at night because Uncle David was driving from North Carolina, today. We have really enjoyed getting to spend time with Jack's cousin, Will.

Happy Thanksgivin

I Love Vacation!

Jack and I have been in HSV, since Sunday. We brought my grandmother and it has been wonderful having 3 full time babysitters. My 80 year old grandmother is wearing him out!

My parents always choose a child to give Christmas to through their Sunday School Class. Jack helped Grandad put together a tricycle as a gift for a little boy in need. It was too big for him, though. He fell off and hit his head on the hardwoods. Ouch!

Thanks, Uncle David! Jack can finally wear his sweatshirt.

Time for Change

Jack finally received his first official haircut. I've been cutting it since he was 5 months old, but it was time for some thinning out. He looks so different and grown up.

Time Flies

Life has been so hectic, lately, that I don't even feel bad that I haven't posted in so long. Jack had yet another double ear infection last week. Thank goodness my parents were already in town and offered to stay. I only have a certain number of sick days and Jack is using them up fast. Anyway, since they were going to be here, we talked them into tiling the bathroom floor, installing the vanity, and do some plumbing. (Obviously, we helped when we could, but most of the time we were at work)

Anyway, Jack has become the ultimate copycat. He remembers everything he sees and will copy it as soon as he gets a chance. I promise that every following picture was not staged. I caught him doing each of these things on his own...

Tiling

Installing hardware

Plumbing
(He found some pliers, went into the bathroom, opened the doors, and started doing this)

More Plumbing
(Fortunately, his plumbing didn't involve 3 trips to Lowes like my dad)

Painting
(He would walk into the kitchen, tap the top of the paint can, then go back into the bathroom and pretend paint the walls)

He even cleans!!

Our wonderful new vanity

On another note... Jason has been running the household lately. I had a doctor's appointment Monday and then went to SipsnStrokes with some friends. Then, on Tuesday I had a consultation with an Endodontist, after school. Well, I thought it was just a consultation until he started numbing me up. I said, "what are you doing?". Apparently, I misunderstood the dentist and the appointment was to have a root canal. So, we got a good laugh out of it and I told him to go ahead. So, I was on pain pills yesterday evening and worthless. I am so ready for Thanksgiving Break.

Our attempts to take a birthday pic for LeeLee

Jack has yet another cold and so he has been quite cranky. He hasn't been to daycare since Monday. Fortunately, my parents have been in town and have been able to babysit. Here are some attempts at getting a picture for LeeLee...

The next picture is a joke. We decided it was the best we could do...
