Life has been crazy, lately. Jason took a job with a different company, Henger Rast Mortgage. While I do believe that this is a great decision, for our family, it has changed our normal routine. Jason has been working longer hours than he used too. Actually, it is 8:30pm, right now, and he still isn't home. Since we have hired a babysitter for Holden, my new routine involves driving 30 minutes home after school to pick up Holden, then running a quick errand, then driving to Riverchase to pick up Jack.
Even though Jack still likes to fight for our attention (quite often), he can be my helper. Holden is obsessed with him. He will watch Jack for long periods of time. One morning, Holden watched Jack play a computer game for at least 30 minutes. In the following picture, Holden kept inching off of the blanket to get closer to Jack. At one point, Jack come over to me and said (in a whiny voice), "Holden keeps getting on my puzzle".
Usually, when I put Jack to bed, I let him play with a toy, for a few minutes. We have never had a problem with that. He is always asleep by 8pm. When he is finished he pushes the toy to the foot of his bed. Tonight, I was changing Jack's sheets and this is what I found, at the foot of his bed...
This is how his bed starts out...

Nanny Time
Today is a turning point in our lives. We no longer have grandparents staying at our house to babysit Holden. Instead, we have hired a babysitter/nanny to watch him for the next two weeks. It's our good friend, Emily Maynor. It was perfect timing because she just finished graduate school and is studying for her CPA exam. And, Holden is such a sweet baby that he decided to take a 2.5 hour nap for her. In other words, Day1 went great.

Alabama
I experienced the following situation, today:
1. looking at the Warrior River
2. sitting on a screened in porch in 85 degree weather
3. holding a stretched out baby, wet with perspiration
4. feeling the cool breeze of an old, dirty box fan
5. watching my (almost) 3 year old learning to fish and catch minnows
I felt like I was in a movie. =) I'm just glad it wasn't August and 95 degrees. haha.

Funny Jack story...
But, first... Holden had his 4 month check-up, today. He is going to be a big boy. He is very long and quite heavy. Also, yesterday, he rolled over for the first time. He has been trying for awhile. Holden is such a sweet baby.
Now, my story...
We still have our nighttime routine with Jack.. 1)brush teeth 2)read books 3)say prayers and 4)sing a song or two. Tonight I told Jack that I was only going to sing one song. I asked him, if he wanted it to be "Hush Little Baby". He said, yes, and then told me he was going to sing "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star".
I asked him, if he wanted to sing first or after me. He told me to start singing. Well, when I started my song, he started his song. He insisted that we sing our songs at the same time. I couldn't stop laughing because I couldn't sing my song with him saying, "Tinkle, Tinkle, Little Star", in the background.
