Jack has been enthralled with the men painting our house. Last week, he would sit in the front window and watch them. Today, they finished fixing the wood on our eaves and I couldn't get Jack to eat lunch because it was so loud. He just stared at the place the sound was coming from. They are building out the railing on our front porch and the guy set up his saw right outside of our front door. Jack is absolutely mesmerized by it

A fabulous Saturday!!!
This was a rare Saturday. All 3 of us were in town, without company, and no plans. So, here is what we did....
We headed out, early, to Hoover's Hazardous Waste Day. We dropped off about 20 cans of old paint. Then, we went to Lowes to get supplies for the day.
We dug up an azalea and two shrubs that did not survive the drought.
We blew leaves. Can you believe we are still blowing leaves?
We put out new rocks in the backyard.
We planted border grass for our future plant bed next to the driveway.
I practiced sitting in my Auburn chair.
I played the piano.
I helped with dinner
I helped with laundry.
Finally, I went to sleep.
I don't know what mom and dad did all day....

A typical little boy
Jack and I are going to Fionnuala's, today, to wait on her new mattress to be delivered. Since Jason has a basketball game, tonight, we will probably stay at her condo for awhile. I was trying to figure out what I needed to pack for Jack, when I realized he had been quiet for a long time. He was trying so hard to look out our front door and see the landscapers next door. I think they were using a blower.
Check out the interesting bruise on his cheek. He fell down on the air conditioning grate.

To the Summit!
Now that Jack is 10 months old he can climb mountains.
Listen to his grunts and groans. He is such a hard worker.

Another nasty Friday
I can remember, when I was teaching, that it always felt like the severe weather would hit on a Friday. Rainy and nasty weather always seemed to bring out the worst in the children. So, you can imagine the combination of nasty weather and the fact that it was Friday always meant a difficult day. Fortunately, I only saw each class for 45 minutes. Then, I kindly handed them back to their teacher. haha.

A Night Out
Jason and I enjoyed a night out on Saturday. We weren't sure we would make the wedding considering the nasty weather almost kept my parents from making the trip. The weather was too severe to travel on Friday, so they came down Saturday morning. Jack and I spent the entire day, Friday, downstairs in the "bunker". Ever since the tornado that came through HSV in 1989, I've been terrified of severe storms. Jason will tell you... I take anything of value to the basement and stay glued to the TV. Actually, I usually talk about it 2 days before it even hits. It is unbelievable the kind of destruction a tornado can cause.

A Fun New Toy
Jack got this toy, yesterday. He actually does a better job of walking with it than the video shows, but I love the shot of him dancing at the end.
