A Rough Night

It was not an easy night, but I knew to expect that. He woke up (almost) screaming about 5 times. It broke my heart when, at 2am, he asked me to make it stop hurting. He is quite opposed to taking his pain medicine. The nurse told us that is tastes bad.

Holden sure is happy that Lee Lee, Big J, Aunt Jennifer, and Phillip sent Jack some balloons...

We're Home

Our morning involved a tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, and a tube removal with patch (whatever that means). I'm glad that it is behind us. Jack is feeling pretty lousy and is actually about 3 shades paler than this picture shows...

I love him so much

This is our last "normal" summer day.

There will be no more:

1. eating breakfast at 10am
2. staying up until 8:30pm (Jack)
3. spending 75% of our day in just underwear (Jack)
4. taking naps somewhere between 11:00 and 1:00, depending on Holden
5. watching a little bit too much Nick Jr.
6. giving Holden his bath, in the middle of the day
7. Skyping Kiki and Gdad, before nighttime
8. Long weekends, at the beach

It will be sad to lose our laid back summer attitude, but I am looking forward to a more strict routine. This is how I found Jack, when I went upstairs to get Holden up from his nap...

My mom told me to hold onto this picture for when he goes to Auburn some day.

Brothers

Our friend, Jeannie, lent us a bunch of Baby Einstein DVDs. Jack wouldn't watch TV until he was 2 years old. Holden, on the other hand, likes it. Look at how long Jack's legs look, in this picture. There is not doubt he has his daddy's legs. Also, you might notice we had to pull out the baby gates. I can't keep Holden out of the fireplace.

Keep Jack in your thoughts, on Thursday. He is having his tonsils and adenoids removed. I called my friend, Heather, to ease my concerns about anesthesia. I know everything will go great and I look forward to the positive change this will create for Jack.

Fun on the river, again

Yesterday, I loaded up the boys and went to visit our friend, Holly. Jack enjoys playing at her river camp. We didn't wear our swimsuits because last time we didn't get in the water. Well, this time there were other children there who were planning to swim. So, Jack ended up swimming in his underwear.

Holly's husband drives a dump truck. Jack was so lucky because he drove it down to the river for him to see. Even better, he brought a load of dirt and dumped it! Jack is cautious about big, loud things, so he didn't want to ride in it. But, the other children did.

(Note: Sorry about the weird effects on my pictures, lately. I have really been having fun with www.picnik.com)

Happy Birthday, Gran!

Happy Birthday to the most wonderful grandmother, in the world. We love you very much and hope you have a great birthday! Don't party too hard!

We had a nice weekend, in Andalusia. We went down there for a golf tournament. Jack and I spent Saturday at the County Club pool. We had a lot of fun. Holden was in a mood, so LeeLee took him home before he got in the water. Oh, well. He was tired. I put sunscreen on him, at the house, before we left. Well, I went in the kitchen and when I went back, I caught Jack with globs of sunscreen all over Holden. Haha.

Puzzle Time

Jack enjoys working on puzzles. Apparently, Holden does too. This video is deceiving. I was surprised at how willing Jack was to let Holden grab his puzzle.

6 Months Old

Holden turned 6 months old, last week. Wow, the time is flying. He is still proving to be much bigger than Jack. He weighs about 18 lbs. Holden does a good job of sitting by himself. Also, he is inching himself all around the room.

We are so happy to have Jack, back home. He had a great week with LeeLee and Big J. Jack even got to go to the World Domino Tournament.

I always consider a cute tiger t-shirt to be a great find. I went into the OshKosh store and found this adorable "Auburn" t-shirt...

The Beach

We had such a good time, at the beach, that Holden and I were very close to staying there for the rest of the week. But, I didn't bring my laptop and Holden's 6 month check-up is this week. We did leave Jack to spend the rest of the week with LeeLee and Big J. It is still hard for me to be away from him. I had butterflies in my stomach, all morning. However, I know that he needs this opportunity to have all of the attention showered on him!

It was a double red flag for the first day or or two, so we didn't venture too far, into the water.

This picture is a typical "late" afternoon, at the beach house.

Holden went to the beach a couple of times.

That is the cutest smile Jack has ever given me.

Phillip gave Jack a couple of water guns. He had fun with them. Thanks, Phillip!

"Stick 'em up, daddy!"

The start of "the hole".

Jack like getting, in the hole.

Jack had a lot of fun playing with Aunt Susu.

Jack thought he could get Big J wet. Boy, was he wrong.

Happy 4th of July!

Thanks, Susan, for getting a family picture for us!

Now, my favorite....
