Pictures from our Day in T-town

We spent the day in Tuscaloosa celebrating Mama Lee's 92nd b'day. After having cake at the nursing home, we went by Aunt Diane and Uncle Rush's house to look at their beautiful backyard.

AND SOMETHING JUST FOR FUN...
After Jason gives Jack his bath, I can usually find the two of them playing on our king-size bed. Here are a couple of pics of this, from last week:

Power Outage

We lost power, last night, for 5 hours due to a thunderstorm. Here is a picture how we spent our time. Removing wallpaper by lantern. No offense to all of our family and friends, but that lantern is the best, most used gift we have ever received. (It was from Jason's Uncle Jim) Because of our neighborhood, we lose power during most storms.

Jack's Corner

When it gets very hot in late summer, I take the comforter off of our bed and we use a light blanket. I keep the comforter and pillow shams in a corner of our room. Jack loves to crawl into that corner. He's been doing it for a long time. Well, lately he has been collecting items and taking them into that corner.

I've decided to start a new series of posts called "Jack's Corner". Basically, when I haven't had anything interesting to write about, you might see another post about what is in Jack's corner.

Currently in Jack's corner:
1. a blue plastic plate
2. the cord to a digital camera
3. the box to Jason's IPOD
4. the top of a pen

I thought we were weary travelers last week. Today, I feel like we need a vacation from vacations. We had a great time in Andalusia, but Jason finished playing golf late, yesterday, so we didn't get home until almost 10pm.

Jack slept the entire way, woke up for about 30 minutes, then went to bed without a fuss. I knew it was too good to be true. He woke up at 11pm and was in and out of sleep until 2am!! It wasn't all crying for momma and dadda. There was a 45 minute period around midnight where he was laughing and having a good time. I only went into his room one time. Finally, at 1:45am, he let out a painful cry. I went into the room and he had his leg was caught between the slats of his bed. He was really upset. So, I rocked him for 15 minutes, laid him down, and didn't hear another peep until this morning. I am exhausted.

We definitely want to congratulate Big J and his partner for winning 4Ball. They shot a 68 on Saturday and a 66 on Sunday! I guess he felt the need to "keep it in the family". Jason and Jeff won the tournament last year. I think that is awesome considering there are around 100 teams.

Aunt Jennifer captured Jack's "bull" face. I love this picture.

Aunt Jennifer fed him a popsicle. He would take a lick, walk away for 30 seconds and then come back for another lick. This went on for a long time.

I wasn't there for this picture. Apparently, a stick was taken from him.

Congrats are in Order

We want to wish a congratulations to Jeff and Mandy, who became engaged, yesterday! You are family to us and we are so happy for you. Jason is counting on the fact that you'll be moving to Birmingham, now.

He's a Walker

Jack is 13 months old, today! He is changing so fast. The following video shows him walking. (We were feeling very "Auburn" when we got dressed this morning)

Georiga on My Mind

Jack and I are becoming weary travelers. We just returned from our trip to Georgia. I never visited my brother when he lived in Wisconsin for 8 years, so I thought I'd get to Georgia as soon as possible. We had a good visit. We went out to dinner with some of their friends on Wednesday night and Thursday we went to the Aquarium and then walked around Centennial Park.

All else aside, the highlight of our trip was spending time with their animals. Jack didn't know what to do with animals that let him touch them. He was obsessed with Abby's paws. He would sneak up on her and grab her paw. She was not too pleased.

The funniest thing was that he loved the dog bed. He would take off down the hallway, turn into their bedroom and, literally, fling himself on the dog bed. No matter how often you wash them, no dog bed is clean, so it made me cringe when he would rub his face in it. James got a short video of it, so I'll post it, if he send it to me.

Mittens snuck up on him and sat down. He backed a way a little bit.

Home, Sweet Home

We finally ended our nine days at the beach. I had a wonderful time, but could not wait to get home. There is something so relaxing about the comforts of home. Also, I was missing Sam and Dugan way too much. We were so lucky to have Gran and Richard stay in our home and babysit them during the first half of the week.
